About WAIGF

Our mission

The West Africa Internet Governance Forum promotes inclusive, informed and sustained multistakeholder dialogue on Internet governance and digital development across West Africa.

WAIGF creates a regional space where governments, civil society, the private sector, academia, the technical community and young people can exchange knowledge, strengthen capacity and contribute West African perspectives to regional, continental and global Internet governance processes.

What we work to achieve

Convene regional dialogue

Bring stakeholders together around current and emerging Internet governance priorities affecting West Africa.

Build capacity

Strengthen knowledge and participation through initiatives including the West Africa School on Internet Governance.

Broaden participation

Support meaningful engagement by different stakeholder groups, including youth and parliamentarians.

Connect West Africa globally

Help regional perspectives inform wider Internet governance discussions, including the Africa IGF and the global UN IGF.
