The West African Internet Governance Forum (WAIGF) Secretariat is pleased to announce that the Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, will host the West Africa Internet Governance Forum 2026 (WAIGF 2026).
WAIGF 2026 will take place from 11 to 15 May 2026 in Sierra Leone and will bring together stakeholders from across West Africa and beyond to engage in inclusive, multistakeholder dialogue on key Internet governance and digital policy issues affecting the region.
As the leading regional Internet governance platform in West Africa, WAIGF continues to provide a space for governments, civil society, the private sector, the technical community, academia, and youth to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and contribute to regional and global digital policy processes.
Preparatory activities for WAIGF 2026 are currently underway. Further information, including the theme, programme structure, and participation modalities, will be shared in due course.
The WAIGF Secretariat looks forward to working closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure a successful and impactful forum in 2026.
